Eileen earned her bachelor degree in social studies education from UCLA and her master degree in social studies education from Purdue University in West Lafayette, Ill.

Survivors include her three children, Austin, LaRae and Cole Miller; her father, Allen Engen; her mother, Janice Lampros; two sisters, Jennifer Brodigan and Kathryn Hulett; her grandmother, Violet Engen; and her friend, Tom Cain.
